Who we are<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Saint George Dragon Trust\u2019s origins lie in the Saint George Community Trust which was founded as a charity for the homeless in London in 1977. Within a short space of time it was housing some 40 residents and employing ancillary staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1999, it was decided that it would better serve the cause of the homeless if a separate charity was formed to administer the trust funds that had been acquired for the purpose of helping people on an individual basis. The St George Dragon Trust (SGDT) was formed for this purpose, to provide grants to help homeless people who have been in communal accommodation as they embark on independent living in their own homes. Over the last 18 years the trust has helped over 600 people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

How we’re run<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The organisation is administered in a very different way from many other charities and trusts. It employs nobody and pays no expenses to the trustees, who give freely their time. No overheads are charged back to the trust; the only outgoings are approved grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Fogg<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nicholas Fogg worked in the sphere of homelessness as Associate Director of the St Mungo Community Trust. He was a co-founder of the St George Community Trust in 1978. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is currently an advisor to the Inter-Action Council of Former Heads of State and Government. Thrice Mayor of Marlborough, he is the author of nine books.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Di Emmerson<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Di Emmerson has been associated with SGDT for a number of years.  She has previously been Clerk to the Trustees and is now a Trustee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She currently works as a mediator having previously run a mediation service.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amongst her interests are singing, walking and sailing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ellis Jones<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ellis Jones was a resident director at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for 16 years, serving as the Academy’s Vice Principal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has since worked for New York University as a lecturer and consultant, and currently coaches and advises on a range of educational and training projects in various parts of the world. He has been a trustee of SGDT for over 10 years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
